David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed writer for children and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the publisher stated: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was reached following an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his titles, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

Television and Literature

His initial claim to fame came on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
