Colts Take On Atlanta Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action

Hello, fussball fans. How are you? Everything good I hope on this excellent morning kickoff to week 10 coming straight outta Deutschland. The Olympiastadion in Berlin to be exact where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the powerful Indianapolis Colts (seven wins and two losses) face off against the Falcons (three wins and five losses). The fifth game played on German soil and the first in the nation’s capital.

Pregame Key Moments

As sparkly jackets go that is an absolute belter from Katarina Witt on the opening flip. A slight fluff from Sky Sports there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the presenter with an unfortunately hot mic.

So, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have elected to receive. The Colts' offense will be setting up shortly. Can the quarterback recover after a rough one in their last game?

Not to be outdone the vocalist performing the Star Spangled Banner has some of the largest shoulder pads you are bound to notice. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choral number for the German anthem. Elegant.

Opening Period Gameplay

Scoreless at 13:30 in the first

And we're off! And we have early drama after Jonathan Taylor receives a short throw, sweeps out for 15 yards to the right then fumbles … only for his offensive lineman to recover the fumble with the recovery. Colts are in Falcons territory already.

Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter

And the drama keeps coming as the Indianapolis attempts a fourth-down conversion. The gamble fails to pay off as the wide receiver fails to catch a fastball from the quarterback. Prior to the failed attempt Jessie Bates put a huge hit on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they try and snap their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Touchdown Recap

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-0 Falcons 8:36, 1st quarter

Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The tight end drops a clanger, he was very open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That moment reflects the high draft pick's professional journey to date.

A disappointing start but it only deteriorates for the Atlanta as they turn over possession to the Indianapolis on the 23-yard mark. The Falcons quarterback is hunted down and fumbles the football.

A nifty 22-yard run from Ashton Dulin sets Jonathan Taylor up to easily run for a touchdown on the following play. The placekicker skews the extra point wide. Oops.

Falcons respond: 6-7 at 6:07

Penix Jr puts the fumble behind him by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. Drake London makes some substantial catches to put them in the scoring area then the defense opens up for the running back to saunter on to the goal line through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. The running back finishes it off for a short scoring run of his own. Advantage Atlanta.

Additional Tenth Week Games

Additionally, the jumbo package starting at 12pm CST/1pm EST/6pm GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Carolina Panthers v Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Bears v Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Texans v Jacksonville Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Dolphins v Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Vikings v Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) Jets v Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Buccaneers v Patriots (7-2)

An exciting lineup. I’m planting my flag on Minnesota and Baltimore playing out the game of the day.
