Barcelona Ready for Inaugural Game at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga 30 months since relocating for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht next month in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
